Troop Withdrawal Referenda Win Big! |

 Referenda calling for the immediate withdrawal of US troops from Iraq were approved in 24 out of the 32 municipalities in Wisconsin where they appeared on Tuesday, April 4, 2006 ballots. The results statewide had 61% of voters asking for our troops to come home from Iraq. In the tiny village of Couderay, population 96, 82% of voters topped the state with the largest landslide - 18 Yes, 4 No. Other communities that had 65% of the vote or over are: the Town of Draper, City of Madison, Town of Vermont, and Village of Winter. The sole referendum asking voters to approve "staying the course" was defeated by 51% of the voters in Evansville, WI.
