Women's International League for Peace and Freedom Popular Bookmark  National War Tax Resistance Coordinating Committee Popular Bookmark
The Women\'s International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF) is the oldest women\'s peace organisation in the world. It was founded in April 1915, in the Hague, the Netherlands, by some 1300 women from Europe and North America, from countries at war against each other and neutral ones, who came together in a Congress of Women to protest the killing and destruction of the war then raging in Europe. NWTRCC's goal is to maintain and build a national movement of conscientious objectors opposed to military taxes by supporting, coordinating and publicizing the WTR actions of groups and individuals. These actions include: war tax resistance, protest, and refusal; the redirection of military taxes to meet human needs; support of the U.S. Peace Tax Fund Bill; and adjustment of lifestyle to avoid tax liability.
War Resisters League Popular Bookmark  Iraq Moratorium Project
WRL was organized in 1923 by men and women who had opposed WWI, many of whom had been jailed for refusing military service. The founders, including Jessie Wallace Hughan, leading suffragette, socialist, and pacifist, believed that if enough people stood in total opposition to war, governments would hesitate to go to war.

The IMP grew out of the frustration we share with so many Americans. Why does the war grind on when the people of this country have so clearly rejected it? Clearly voting didn’t do the job. The IMP took shape in order to address issues people have about getting involved.

Voices for Creative Nonviolence Popular Bookmark  Iraq Moratorium

This campaign intends to build and strengthen active nonviolent resistance to the U.S. war against Iraq’s people; to foster international and domestic peace teams; and to challenge the United States’ “Global War on Terror”, which is a war OF terror far more than it is a “war ON terror.”

Encourages individual or collective action on the third Friday of every month to call for an end to the war in Iraq.  Lists planned activities and after-action reports from organizers each month.

Take the pledge:  I hereby make a commitment that on the Third Friday of each and every month, I will break my daily routine and take some action, by myself or with others, to end the War in Iraq.

The Peace Alliance Popular Bookmark  Declaration of Peace Popular Bookmark
A  citizen lobbying effort to create a U.S. Department of Peace. This bill establishes nonviolence as an  organizing principle of American society, providing the U.S. President with an array of peace-building policy options for domestic and international use. The Declaration of Peace is a pledge to take nonviolent steps for the immediate withdrawal of US troops – and to engage in peaceful protest if a comprehensive plan to end the war is not established and begun by September 21, 2006, International Peace Day, just days before Congress adjourns for the fall elections.

The PNWN message is "War is not the answer, for only love can conquer hate."  PNWN lists numerous resources on peace and social justice issues.

BRING THEM HOME NOW! is a campaign of military families, veterans, active duty personnel, reservists and others opposed to the ongoing war in Iraq and galvanized to action by George W. Bush's inane and reckless challenge to armed Iraqis resisting occupation to "Bring 'em on."

Their mission is to mobilize military families, veterans, and GIs themselves to demand: an end to the occupation of Iraq and other misguided military adventures; and an immediate return of all US troops to their home duty stations.

On Earth Peace Popular Bookmark  Antiwar.com
On Earth Peace is an agency rooted in the Church of the Brethern devoted to developing leadership for peace in each new generation. Their goals are to 1) Develop leadership for peace in each new generation; 2) Nurture spirit-filled discipleship and active response to violence; and 3) Teach and lead healthy, faithful responses to conflict. Antiwar is devoted to the cause of non-interventionism. As Randolph Bourne emphasizes, " With every war, America has made a "great leap" into statism. " . . . it is during war that one best understands the nature of that institution [the State]."  At its core, that "nature" includes the ever-increasing threat to individual liberty and the centralization of political power. Antiwar provides a sounding board of interest to all who are concerned about US foreign policy and its implications.

The Nuclear Age Peace Foundation\'s Nuclear Files project is a website devoted to the history of the Nuclear Age. By providing background information, analysis and access to primary documents, the site is an educational resource exploring the political, legal and ethical challenges stemming from the continued existence of nuclear weapons.

AIUSA believes that all companies have a direct responsibility to respect human rights in their own operations. The business community also has a wider responsibility -- moral and legal -- to use its influence to promote respect for human rights.
AIUSA supports national and international legal instruments that promote greater corporate responsibility for human rights, including those that assure the risk of legal accountability if a company commits or is complicit in human rights abuses in their operations.
