Because of mounting evidence of harmful effects of uranium on human health and the environment, ICBUW calls for an immediate and universal ban on the military use of uranium and other radioactive materials; the cleaning up of all sites contaminated by these weapons along with compensation for all affected populations; a halt to the production, testing, sale, stockpiling, transport and export of these weapons and a decommissioning of all existing stockpiles; immediate medical assessment, treatment and long term monitoring of all those who have been exposed to uranium weaponry, and financial support from organisations and individuals to provide independent medical and environmental investigations of affected countries. Finally, they call on governments to exclude their troops from alliance with any government that uses uranium munitions. They demand from the accountable governments full disclosure of all locations where uranium weapons have been used as well as the amounts of uranium involved. |

| Global Network Against Weapons & Nuclear Power in Space |
RPHP is a nonprofit educational and scientific organization, established by scientists and physicians dedicated to understanding the relationships between low-level, nuclear radiation and public health. During the first half century of the Nuclear Age a growing body of medical and scientific evidence has emerged to demonstrate a probable causal link between low-level internal radiation from the ingestion of man-made fission products and world-wide increases in immune deficiency diseases, especially cancer and those affecting the newborn. RPHP has assembled much of the epidemiological evidence documenting these links. |
